BREAKING NEWS: Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC Endorses Michael Blake for DNC Vice-Chair

NEW YORK, NY – Today, Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC, the largest LGBTQ democratic club in New York State and one of the largest in the country, announced its support of Assemblymember Michael Blake for Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee.

During the Assemblymember's time in Albany, he has had a perfect record supporting policy and voting for legislation that would expand equality for the entire LGBTQ community. Mr. Blake has also been an incredible ally, working with communities across the country ensure their voices were heard in the White House.

"Assemblymember Michael Blake is a voice we need at the DNC," said Eunic Ortiz, President of the Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC. "During his time serving in the Assembly and in the White House, he has been a constant and consistent ally that has stood by our community. The next Vice Chair in the DNC must be someone who - among many things - has real experience working with the LGBTQ community, understands our struggles, and knows what we need to do to achieve 100% equality for everyone - and that person is Michael Blake.”

Assemblymember Michael Blake offered the following response to the Stonewall Democrats statement of support.

“Stonewall is iconic and ever present in the LGBTQ movement, and, I'm honored to have their full support to become a Vice-Chair for the DNC.  We must stand up for our LGBTQ community as too many voices are silent in the face of justice. Whether it's marrying who you love or not facing discrimination for who you are, I will be a consistent advocate for our LGBTQ brothers and sisters, and, I'm so grateful and will ensure that your voice is always at the table.”
