2024 SDNYC Endorsement Process

2024 will be a critical year for elections in our city, state, and country. SDNYC is committed to endorsing, campaigning for, and electing representatives who will fight to advance the rights, priorities, and ideals of the LGBTQ community.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERS TO VOTE ON ENDORSEMENTS

  • Individuals who are 2024 SDNYC Members will be eligible to vote

  • Individuals who have been dues paying members of SDNYC in 2022 or 2023 are eligible to pay the Club's 2024 dues to receive a ballot (payment can submitted online up to the day of the endorsement meeting)

  • Per the SDNYC Constitution and By Laws, individuals who were not dues paying members of SDNYC in 2022 or 2023, must have paid the Club's 2024 membership dues 90 days before the club endorsement vote.

2024 SDNYC Candidate Questionnaire

For almost 40 years, The Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC has played a pivotal role in municipal, state, and federal elections. New York will hold its primary for Democratic Nominee for President on April 2nd. Primary elections for US Congress, State Senate, and State Assembly are scheduled for June 25th. SDNYC will:

  • Question candidates on issues important to the LGBTQ Community.

  • Present candidates to our membership for endorsement votes.

  • Support our endorsed candidates in the primary election.

Thank you for your interest in the endorsement of the Stonewall Democratic Club of NYC. For over 30 years, SDNYC has played an important part in municipal, state, and federal elections, evaluating candidates on their records and issues important to the LGBTQ community.

Our endorsement process includes:

  • Monday, March 25th - Questionnaires published

  • Friday, April 12th - Questionnaires due

  • Wednesday, April 17th - Questionnaire responses posted online and sent to SDNYC members

  • In Person Endorsement Meetings - Candidates are invited to speak to our members, followed by a vote

    • Wednesday April 24th - NYS Assembly Candidates

    • Wednesday May 1st - NYS Senate, US Congress, US Senate Candidates
